Kajian Pelatihan Kepemimpinan Pendidikan Tinggi Vokasi Maritim Guna Mencetak SDM Kemaritiman Berdaya Saing Unggul
Abstract
Leadership is one of the keys to the success of an organization, including maritime vocational higher education institutions. The ability to produce superior competitive human resources is also influenced by the competence and quality of educational institution leaders. This study aims to determine the urgency of holding leadership training in maritime vocational higher education in Indonesia. The study was conducted using a quantitative approach. Data collection used a questionnaire filled out by 39 respondents from 10 maritime vocational higher education institutions. The results showed that 38 respondents agreed with the implementation of training for prospective leaders of maritime vocational higher education, where 29 respondents or 74.4% had never received similar training. Training is needed to reduce confusion in implementing 8 national education standards which are the reference for conducting audits, where the standards of educators and education personnel are in first place at 41%. Materials that can be presented in the training include leadership, management of vocational higher education, regulations or standards, maritime technical knowledge, and other non-technical materials. Training requires synergy between related institutions that are experienced in organizing it.
